The Bolbo Petrol Lighter by Tsubota Pearl looks like something you'd find in a well-worn coat pocket from the 1950s. Compact and curved, it feels good in the hand and disappears easily into a bag or pocket. Made in Japan from solid brass or Seki steel, the same material used in fine Japanese knives, it is refillable, built to last, and made with precision you can feel. The flip top allows you to extinguish the flame after lighting or, with a little practice, light it in a single motion. It runs on petrol, flint, and a cotton wick, all of which are replaceable for long-term use. The brass version develops a patina over time, giving it a finish that's unique to you.
